Readmission of Former Students

Former students of Youngstown State University who were previously admitted to an undergraduate degree program and wish to return can complete a readmission application if:

  • you have not been enrolled at YSU for three or more consecutive terms
  • you have not attended another college or university taking any undergraduate courses since leaving YSU

Submission of an application does not guarantee re-admission to the University.  Once your readmission application has been processed you will be contacted by the email address indicated on your readmission application and USPS mail. All students returning to YSU must meet with an academic advisor prior to registration.

Deadline: Students must submit their readmission application by 12:00pm the Thursday before the first day of the full term

If you were academically suspended: Students who were academically suspended and dismissed from the University must also petition for reinstatement to the university. Students requesting reinstatement must submit their reinstatement petition by the deadlines set by the Academic Reinstatement Committee. If you were academically suspended and apply for readmission after the reinstatement petition deadline your readmission application will be automatically deferred to the next available term. For the petition for academic reinstatement visit this site.
